No, as long as there were no issues with the promotion of this machine to 
a DC and you aren't seeing any issues with replication, you can do it any 
time. No need to wait.

Hi All,
 
I wonder if you could help please.  Last evening I introduced an 
additional windows server 2008 domain controller into my domain with a 
view to decommissioning and replacing the current schema master.  Are 
there any best practices around how long I should let the new DC ‘bed in’ 
before I change it to the schema master?
