Or tablet? I don't get this sentiment. It's perfectly possible to have access to the same data on multiple platforms without running the same software on all of them. Indeed, there are plenty of people doing that now, with MSFT on the desktop and RIM/APPL/GOOG for mobile. Additionally, I don't think trying to force the same UI paradigm everywhere is a good idea. When I'm sitting at my workstation, I have lots of display real-estate, a full-sized keyboard. Lots of windows, lots of foreground multi-tasking, lots of in-depth work sessions. Touchscreen is less useful (gorilla arm). For my handheld, it's more of a quick reference or fast note taking thing. I'm a lot less likely to be doing multiple foreground tasks at once. Screen real estate is at a premium. Touchscreen is preferred. While I think it makes a lot of sense for Microsoft to try and standardize on one platform, I think trying to force the same UI on everyone everywhere would be a mistake. -- Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
