Asking where someone gleaned a piece of info is entierely different from make it work. You have to assimilate and apply the information.
A lot of what I do here in the office is point people in the direction to go. Just today, someone described a problem and I said, sounds like X, did you check that? Note, I didn't go to their computer and do it for them, or even bring it up on my computer to replicate it, I had them do it for themselves so they could understand the behavior of their problem. Saying make this work is something my daughter does when she's tired and frustrated. She's 6. She's slowly learning to not do that.
