Depending on who it is, and how often it is done, many people are not going
to be thoroughly offended by a "hey, I'm just throwing this out here as I
trying 15 different approaches in a rush" post every now and then.

You want to know what will kill the desire to assist the next time around?
 Not coming back in between with the answer that ended up working for you.

We need closure too, you know.
