  Windows Update only offers drivers which the manufacturer has
submitted to Microsoft and then passed Microsoft's certification
program.  The drivers on Windows Update are often far from current.

software, be sure to update that as well.

  You earlier said you have an Acer brand laptop.  What is the model?
For example, I have a model Latitude E6220 laptop made by Dell.

  What brand and model wireless chipset?  For example, that same
laptop has an Centrino 6205 wireless chipset made by Intel.
