Indeed. I highly recommend this too. I've moved Eastman Software (Kodak) and Rational Software this way.
You'd be surprised what might happen to a box in transit, but you've taken better care of the most important part - the data. Also, some issues at the other end post-setup are from cables coming loose in transit!
