I think this rant has gone far enough. If you like Dell's and like their
service buy Dell's. If you like IBM's and like their support buy IBM.
I personally like the keyboards on the IBM's, however, I have used Dell's
at places I have worked and they were fine. Some people swear by Toshiba's.
We all have different experiences with vendors products and their support so
I don't think there is a right answer.

Based on your past messages in this thread, I would have to
disagree. Comments like "I can definitely say without a doubt that
IBM blows the doors of Dell", and "far as I am concerned Dell support
is mediocre at best" seem pretty argumentative to me.

IBM's base warranty price is also significantly higher than Dell.
Again: If you want cheap service, Dell is happy to give it to you.
Your whole issue with Dell seems to be based on the fact that they
gave exactly what was asked for and paid for.
