Guess I should throw my 2 cents in.

First IT job was working for a union here in Sacramento. 18 users,
Netware 4.11 network, 1 server, about half the users were still using
Windows 3.11. 24k/year. From there went to private industry for
$42k/year. Got downsized there, went to the school district where I
ended up around $47k/year. Now, I work for the state, making ~$55k.
I've got a little over 10 years experience, have held CNE (4.11 and
upgrade to 5), MCSE (NT4). Gave up the cert path after that. I'm about
halfway towards a BS degree in management, and not sure if I'm going to
finish that anytime soon.

Yeah, 27 here.

When I first started out I was making $22k taking care of 30+ servers, 5
locations, and working 80+ hours a week to keep up with it all. I refer
to this stage of life as the "balding period". After 2 years of doing
that, I had to beg for a raise to $30k.

I make about as much as Andrew there, and have the same level of
experience... but I've got an Associates in Network Engineering, A+,
Net+, Linux+ and just passed Security+ last week.... (yippee)

I like to think that at my age (25) making that much in Alabama, I'm not
doing half bad.
