Xerox has a program where non-profits get an 8560DN MFP (solid ink) for free
on a 2 year maintenance contract. You get billed only for what you use
($.11/c and $.02/bw). They send wax sticks at no charge as you need it and
there are no penalties for not using it at all. We got one as we had an old
printer die on us before we were ready to purchase a new one. Our Xerox rep
said if you never take it out of the box we will never bill you, and in two
years we will come and pick it up with no return fees. The contract was a
single paragraph. We print about 1300 sheets per month with about 56% color
and it costs us around $91/mo to use. You can only get one though. It worked
great for us and was zero costs to get. And we can still get the printer we
want when we can afford and just push this one off to the side without
incurring extra costs. Sorry if I sound like a commercial, it's just a
really good deal for a small unit.

Subject: Multi-function printer recommendations

Hi Folks:

We have a finance person at each of our sites. One of the older
multifunction printers failed. She needs another. Our leased units are too
high end for a single user. Here are her needs:

can do large print jobs (as i send out a lot of letters )
is able to print enevelope without having to take the paper out (can print
envelope and letters at the same time)
scanner
copier (fast speed)
color
fax

Suggestions? Our leased units are HP, Xerox, Canon. She prints a lot, so
it needs to be able to handle that. And yes the manager only wants to pay
less than $1,00 for it.

Recommendations?

Tom
