You can make side trips to Bryce or Zion Canyons on the way but that takes 
extra time. I did Zion on my way up and it ended up being 12+ hours before I 
got back to Vega$

Yea, I read online that they dont allow cameras.  Such a jip
concidering its gonna cost 60 per person to walk on it.  The web site
says that they dont want to risk people dropping the cameras, which I
guess is a valid concern if you aren't surrounding the walkway with a
fence like most many tall places have (Eiffell tower, Empire State
Bldg, etc).

I'll look into the North rim  - thanks for the tip!
