It's weird. Sometimes just one message I haven't opened will turn read, other times it's 2 or 3 all at once. I'll open ONE message and when I close it, a few have changed from unread to read. I wonder if it has to do with reading the PF's in conversation view, as most of my other (non-mailing-list non-PF) folders are org'd by date.
