Back in '90 over in the sand the 82nd Airborne liked to detonate suspicious boxes at around 1:30 am every few days with a .50 cal. Being in the Marines this was especially funny (Not) because we were already running on about 3 hours sleep anyways. Since we were providing them a place to eat, sh*t, shower, and shave we decided to put their rations on hold until they could play nice nice with our sleep. They began detonating in the afternoon after about the 3rd day. It was petty I know but those things will wake you up no matter how tired you are, I am serious.

First time I shot a .50, I cleared the benches.

Literally.

I touched it off, and the fellows next to me on either side had left
some rounds of various sizes, a spotting scope and a couple of small
mats on their benches. They were standing behind me, and the contents
of the benches ended up on the ground from the redirected muzzle
blast.

What a rush.

problem--and it's a big one--is its $11,500 price tag. For that kind of
money, a few medium-range explosives would seem more cost-effective.

strokes of the hand-pump to create enough power to destroy one drive.
