Yup, just did that and it is apparently from a 53xx server setup which they claim is good for 54xx procs. If I could just see what chipset it is from within windows :) I know have ilo access, but it didnt suggest anything.

If it’s one of the early revs, then yes there will most likely be problems. The new ones are all 5000p chipsets. I’m trying to think of how to grab the chipset model from within windows, given you only have RDP access… Have you take the SN# of the server and called into HP Support or the Parts Support or your Account rep and asked about it? The very first 380 G5's didnt support the QC's (5000 chipset versus 5000p I guess). You also need a recent bios version.
