I _suspect_ that they are the same. The agent basically allows a Kerberos federation to happen on a per-system basis, without punching holes in a firewall.
To wax philosophical: one of the services I offer is to monitor clients servers. I give them differing prices dependent on whether I will get a "clear channel" (i.e., VPN access) to their network or whether I have to put a hardware or software agent on their premises. I don't see it any different from a Microsoft perspective...my clients are solidly in the SMB space. Granted they KNOW me and they don't know the "evil empire", but overall, the shift has already started to happen... Regards, Michael B.
