You can connect to the server but no longer upload or download files. The
event logs will just show that the session timed out. The server is fully
patched. It sits behind a Firebox X750e Core running Fireware 10.2.1. I
hadn't thought to look at the IIS logs. Let me check those.

So what happens? Is IIS still running? Look at your Event Logs, see if any
obvious/drastic happened.
Next check your IIS logs, look under C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles for the
instance and time.

Those would be my first steps.

-Is your server fully patched?
-What firewall sits in front?

Subject: FTP Web Server problem

I have a client with a Windows 2003 Server Web Edition in a DMZ that is
setup
to act an FTP server. Their application developers regularly FTP new
revisions of their custom LOB app to this box. The problem is that at least

once a week they will get a timeout message and then get disconnected. Once

that occurs the only way to continue working is to restart the server. I
have never been able to recreate the original issue, and I can only see the
aftermath. Is there something I can look at to help troubleshoot what is
causing this problem?
