It works very well over a WAN. It is VSS based, so yes it is block level. I had issues with DoubleTake losing connection and not picking back up over my WAN links, but I have not had that problem since changing to DPM.

One thing that is really nice is that DPM is DPM aware, so you can back one server to another with very few clicks on the 2nd server.
