All, I am trying to setup a VLan for multicast traffic (VLan3). I have a small workgroup of pcs/equipment generating the traffic into an UNtagged port on a switch. I have then passed that traffic Tagged through the switch stacks and aggregated links to another port in the company. The end point is receiving the multicast traffic and is working normally on the UNtagged VLan1 which is the normal internal traffic. However, he is unable to ping back to the pc's in VLan3 or making connection in the reverse direction. Is this even possible? I havn't tested this, but would it work to UNtag him with VLan3 and then set him Tagged to Vlan1? Will he be able to communicate to the company network? I am using 3com switches.
