The first closet to get the upgrade has 5-24's stacked into a 12port.
There are 4 other closets with 2 to 4 - 24p each.

No current need or plans for PoE.
I need 802.11q and 802.11ad to maintain our current setup.

Thanks,

Also, I forgot to ask what are people's thoughts on using a chassis
setup versus a stack?

Thanks,

Subject: edge switch (to the desktops)

All,

Less than a month ago some people chimed in about core switching, but my
question is for edge switches. We have some aging 3com 3300's that we
are looking to replace. I'd like to move to the gb models to the
desktop considering our 3300 stacks are connected to a 3812 which has an
aggregated gb link to a core 3870 in the server room.

Any thoughts on models? 3com 4500G (over $2000), Dlink dgs-3100(under
$1500)? Price is a factor but we won't buy cheap to be cheap.

Thanks,
