Hi
We have a number of users that connect to our office via VPN connections. On connecting they get given an IP address from a pool on the firewall. Once connected some of them open an application that connects to a SQL server. We are having problems with this application when used over the VPN and the user has dropped his connection and then reconnected and been given a different IP address from the pool on the firewall. The SQL server does not pick up the fact that the connecting PC has now got a different IP address and therefore the application does not connect. I have tried running NBTSTAT -R and ipconfig /flushdns on the server but even after running these, the SQL server still associates the connecting PC with the original IP address that was first given to it and not the newly acquired one. I have checked that the correct "new" IP address is registered in WINS and DNS and that the SQL server is using the correct DNS and WINS servers. Does anyone know what I can do to force this SQL server to pick up the correct IP address of connecting client PC's.
