How many remote staff are you contemplating? The SonicWall SSL VPN 2000 appliance I just implemented works really well, and allows you to publish a TS server, or the staff's own desktops, or specific web sites, etc.
SonicWall recommends 40-50 max, but license is unlimited, and it's easy to set up, and pretty darn cheap. I chose not to, but you can set it to authenticate against AD.
