The only message that I am getting is the failed service or driver message
while Windows is loading. I get the grey screen, I see the Status messages,
but just as it is getting to the Configuring Network Resources(?) is when
the error message comes up. And I don't have to click 'ok' to get rid of the
message, either, because just as the login screen appears, it changes over
to Windows is Shutting down.

How do I go and look at the Event Viewer in Recovery Console? I thought it
could be done...but memory fails me... been busy day...
