Make a full disk image backup before making changes, in case you make the wrong changes. Acronis is bootable. So is Linux SysRescueCD. You could toss another hard disk into the computer, install Windows on to that, and use that to mount the production disk set and try and pick through the pieces that way. (Or, if you can't do another disk, a parallel install into a different directory (not C:\WINDOWS) may be doable, but it may replace stuff elsewhere on the disk without asking.) Your goal should be first to identify the service that's killing itself. If it's non-essential, you can just disable it. If it's the LSA, CSR, etc., you have to fix the cause. -- Ben ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
