If this is the only DC, has a good backup, and he will be using the same
hardware, he might be OK. What backup software were they using ?

Subject: Lost only domain controller

And no it's not mine, I know better! I got a call from a friend asking me
if there was any way to recover a domain controller (only one, W2K, HP
Blade I believe) from an unbootable C: drive. There is a system state
backup, is that enough to do a recovery? I personally have never had to
recover from such robust stupidity so I really don't know but my initial
thought is they're screwed. If anyone can tell me differently it would be
most appreciated.
