Those are all tethered, which I really didn't want. This thing will just go in my field sporran or kilt pocket, and I can wander the house with it - it stores an ungodly number of entries.. I've got over 20 filled bookshelves to inventory, and I don't want to lug my laptop around with the scanner. I definitely don't feel ripped off, especially since it came with a serial cable.
