I personally don't see a benefit to the widescreen for typical computer
work.  You could get a few more spreadsheet columns on a widescreen, or
more area to display if you're using a graphics program.  If the price
is the same or within a few bucks, get the wide.  Otherwise, I don't see
the value.

Folks,
 
I"m about to start purchasing for our annual PC refresh cycle.  I
normally purchase 17" monitors (we are a Dell shop) but I see I can get
19" regular and 19" wide screen for just a bit more.  Anyone care to
comment on the benefit of wide v. regular size?
