have you tried opensuse? Surprised ubuntu doesn't support more than 1 nic, but don't use it anyway.

Greetings! I am trying to set up a machine to run Wireshark fairly continuously. I'd like to use a linux system for this. I want a GUI, Wireshark, and a web browser (so I can mail myself logs via GMail). It also needs to support two NICs (one for monitoring, one for internet connections). So far, I've tried Ubuntu Workstation (nice GUI, Wireshark, and Firefox). However, it only supports one NIC. Ubuntu Server is a bit too tricky for me to install and have the GUI running. (After jumping through many hoops, and NOT seeing the ability to bring up in, I believe it's called Run Level 5, I'm stumped - too many years have gone by.) I'm starting Google searches now, but if any one can point me in a good direction, it could save a few hours. Thanks! -- Richard D.
