There is a thread on this subject in the Dell forums. Many have found
relief.
I had this same problem with 33 Dell Optiplex 755 computers.
Thanks to this thread, I asked Dell for replacements of all the
optical drives, (which they did) and it seems that the problem has been
finally been fixed.
However I noticed that nobody mentioned the model of the optical
drive that was causing the problem. In my case all the drives were HLDS
GSA-H73N using firmware C107.

You can, but at least in my case didn't show

useful. Apart of hard drives issues, dell diagnostics can't diagnose
much
