We see this happening TYPICALLY for one or two reasons: 1. bad capacitors, look at the ones near the cpu on the motherboard. we've had 7 or 8 machines in the last year or so with pooched or even leaky capacitors(not sure capacitors is exactly what they are, but I'm sure some will correct the mistake). 2. heat caused by clocked fan grills or heatsink or SLOW fans.
