Dell has had trouble over the years with capacitors going bad on some Optiplex models, though I haven't heard of the problem on the 755. Check the motherboard and if the tops of any capacitors are bulging or leaking gunk you'll likely get a free replacement motherboard even if it's out of warranty. They replaced a slew of motherboards for SX270s that the school had well past the original warranty date.
