I knew between my age and the severity of my poor vision, I would not 
qualify for LASIK...

My final pair of tri-focals cost over $400.  In 6 months, they were no 
good...  Each eye was seeing triple!

Cataracts replaced with implants, and I now can read that bottom line on 
the charts.  In fact, my distance vision is better than I can remember it 
being for most of the past 50 years - even with new prescriptions.

I can't read much of anything closer than 4' without readers.  Then again, 
at $6 a pop (Dollar Tree has readers for $1, if I don't mind thick pink 
plastic frames!), I can have a pretty good supply of cheap readers for 
that $400 I'd spent.

Ophthamology is a wonderful thing!  Perhaps some day, they can find a good 
solution for you as well.
