OK, the error... The error is actually in the "Downloads" window of the browser. Normally, when opening a PDF off our servers, the users never notice this box. However, when things are broken, one sees the name of the PDF (or other download target), followed by "This download has been blocked by your Security Zone Policy".
Whatever browser is being used seems to inherit its security settings from IE7. A web site (http://www.firefoxfacts.com/2008/07/23/security-zone-policy-errors-in-firefox-3/) gives a work-around, but it's simpler just to re-install IE7. The only reason I posted anything is, about 15% of our workstations all had this occur within 24 hours, so I was just wondering if it was our local problem or something more widespread.
