Nice, I also just found WUInstall from Xeox which will use whatever the comp is configured for, testing now. Going to try this as well as its WSUS oriented!

The closest thing to that I've seen is the script Brian Desmond posted a link to a while back, but involves some other infrastructure related setup, different from WSUS. http://briandesmond.com/tools/simplepatch/ Without that setup, the closest thing I can think of is to force a wuauclt /detectnow with psexec and have Group Policy configured (and already applied) to install updates.
