We have a couple Dell 1100 B&W laser printers that the previous IT Manager got and stuck in storage (why he didn't deploy them, I'll never know!) I put 'em out and they've been good little printers. I had an issue with one of them the other day having some streaks. I pulled the toner / drum out and looked and there was a piece of something on the drum part. I cleaned that off and the streak went away. J
As for being "portable" I wouldn't call them that. They are small, so theoretically, they could be carried around, but I'm pretty sure these are not designed to be "portable." The Dell 1100 is a small "personal laser" printer, about the size of a breadbox - maybe a foot long by 8" wide by about 6" tall. Feeds from the bottom and outputs at the top. I would have no problems recommending the Dell 1100 printers. I haven't tried it yet, but I found some toner cartridges for about $35/toner on the 'Net. Seems it uses the same toner as some Samsung printers (maybe OEM for Dell by Samsung??)
