If that is not an option, then use a console server. (I use a Raritan Console server for switches and routers in my server room) From: Jeff Johnson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 10:30 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: OT: Cisco Switch Setup I am having difficulties setting up a Cisco Catalyst 2950 Switch with a network connection. I have 8 of them and would like to manage them from my desk rather than physically in the server room, switching the console cable for each one. I have already assigned a VLAN1 ip address with subnet and a default gateway. I have assigned a different HTTP port. Unfortunately, that is where I sit and am still unable to connect via browser. If anyone is willing to help me I would appreciate it. This could be direct e-mail rather than through the forum.
