Would agree with everyone here with SEP. SEP got worse after they changed it from Symantec Antivirus to Endpoint Protection. While it looks good on the outside of what it can do, that doesn't make up for what's underneath. As many people here have mentioned, SEP is a system hog and nothing but problems. If you enable the password feature for installing/uninstalling the client, SEP will require you to change the password every so often. However it doesn't always update it on the client. So when you go to install you have to remember the last several passwords to uninstall. (Although you can bypass the password feature when uninstalling with help from Symantec's forums for everyone to see) They were always problems with the clients not upgrading/updating and would sometimes be shut down.
Once we installed Vipre on the network, computer resources were freed up and things were running faster. Like all companies, Vipre isn't perfect, there will be things missed and issues. Unlike other companies, Sunbelt is readily there to help out with issues regarding any of their products and even their CEO will hop into a conversation here in the lists. Symantec never offered that. Of course your decision or the decision of the uppers sometimes can't be changed... but the cost and reliability or Vipre is hard to match.
