What is provided by the partnership that wasn't readily available
previously?

What disadvantage would customers suffer if there was no partnership?

Tacit?  Heck, I'll just say it:  No AV company will catch everything.  

 

Not partnering is just doing a dis-service to your customers.

Oh, I just realized it's more than just marketing/advertising.  It's a tacit
admission by both companies that their own products might miss something.
No surprise to most of us.

Isn't Malwarebytes for scanning/cleaning already free?   Is there any
functionality here that wasn't easily possible before?  Looks like not much
more than a marketing/advertising partnership.
