One of our engineers has a modelling program that often takes several hours to crunch the data and render the output on his 32-bit office machine. Not sure of the app's name, though.
He's moved it to his personal 64-bit box with double the RAM and a faster CPU but is not seeing much, if any, performance increase. Die dulci fruere!
