All this suggests, without any other information about the application and
the size of the data set, is that the bottleneck is not necessarily a 32-bit
CPU one.

Here are just a few of the questions that would need to be answered to
diagnose this issue effectively:

   - What are the full hardware specs of the two machines?
   - What OS is running on both machines?
   - What is the name of the application?
   - What and how much data is being processed?
   - What components are proving to be the bottlenecks on both systems?
