This thread brings back memories from the bad old days. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188305 "Remember that name resolution among all browsers is critical and that the first thing to do is to establish a robust name resolution infrastructure with WINS. A lot of time can be wasted trying to track down browser issues, which are really caused by name resolution problems."
<rest of reply killed since Ben Scott beat me to it> As Ben suggested, forcing a single master browser will solve the problem. In the setup you describe it is possible to get multiple master browsers and have all sorts of randomness with respect to network browsing. Yes, the browser election process looks good on paper, but it has been shown to fail horribly in the real world. -Jeff Steward On Tue, Aug 31, 2010 at 4:26 PM, Erik Goldoff <[email protected]> wrote: > Not benign, but could be a critical notice considering your issue. > > > > *Erik Goldoff*** > > *IT Consultant* > > *Systems, Networks, & Security * > > ' Security is an ongoing process, not a one time event !
