All the drives listed in the advisory are 15k drives. Mine are 10k
drives. Do you think this is still applicable?

Hi all,
So, a couple of months ago, I posted about a backup job for a 600
gig information store taking 80 hours using BE over a gigabit
ethernet to a tape library. I still have issues.
It looks like when the mail server (exchange 2003 on dl360 with
msa30 attached via scsi) is booted it logs a warning "SCSI bus
fault occurred on Storage Box box 0, , Port 0 of Array Controller
in slot 2.
This may result in a "downshift" in transfer rate for one or more
hard drives on the bus."
The array controller in slot 2 is a 6400. All the drives are
ultra320 10k.
It then logs a couple of errors that state "The device,
\Device\Scsi\cpqcissm2, did not respond within the timeout period."
Couple of things I have noticed: The MSA does not have a
terminator on the B scsi connection. Anyone know if these are
self terminating and I don't need one?
Also, it looks like the EMU for the array was never connected to a
switch. I thought I'd connect it and see what information it
would give me. The EMU is seated, but doesn't seem active at all.
no light and no activity when i attach it to a switch. seems
dead. If this EMU failed, could that cause the array to downshift?
Any other ideas for what I should be looking for to troubleshoot this?
Thanks.
Bill
