Consider setting your rules to 'tag' as you roll it out...and change the tag
field to be empty. That way your users don't see what is happening and you can
check the message log to see what would have been blocked.

Make sure your port forwarding system still shows the originating IP address
from the sending server to the Cuda for the connections. Not doing that will
limit some of your abilities, or make things more difficult. I am sure it will,
just pointing that out.

Be careful what you classify as spam. Just because it is junk mail doesn't mean
it is spam. If you classify too much legit marketing email as spam it will come
back to haunt you. Also, it is far more important to classify Not Spam than
Spam. Better to teach it what you want...that drives the score of what you want
down towards zero making it easier to lower your block score.

And last, do not send NDR's to the sender from the Bays blocking. Backscatter
will get you in trouble pretty quickly.

Folks,

We are replacing our current e-mail spam/anti-virus filter with a Barracuda
400. The admin guide looks pretty straightforward for the various settings.
Looking for any recommendations as to particular settings, lessons learned or
gotchas as it were. We plan to start with inbound filtering, add outbound once
that is stabilized. I plan to use port redirection and keep my current MX
record unaltered, if that matters.

Comments, suggestions appreciated.
