We have used WhatsUp for a long time. It is a good product and they
have added a lot of features over the years. I know that there are a
lot of good open source products out there, too, but WhatsUp is a good
paid option.

Subject: Server and Network Monitoring packages

All

I have been tasked with evaluating a number of Network and Server
monitoring packages. I am looking at IpSwitch "Whatsup Gold", Manage
engine "OpManager" and Solar Winds "Orion".

We are monitoring about 35 servers (NT Services, Disk Space, memory,
CPU) , 12 HP switches (sFlow), 2 CISCO routers (netflow), a number of
hosted websites, 3 WAN Links, Firewall.

From the switches and routers we would like to get an overview of who
(Machine / User) is doing what and what applications are utilizing our
network bandwidth.

If anyone one has any comments on any of the solutions I am looking at
(Or any that they feel I should look at) I would be pleased to hear
them. We have been using Nagios but are wanting to compare this with
some paid for options were we may get more support.

Regards
