I had to pay for mine @ my current gig. $50.00 (CAD) for the background check, no drug test though.

But what kinda irks me is that they want to charge $10 for the Drug Test and $25 for the Background Check. What the form basically says, is, that I am giving the contracting firm to deduct those amounts from my first paycheck. I am also hesitant in filling out any forms for them, as they haven't told me what the payrate is on this position. I thought all Background Checks and Drug Test charges where the responsibility of the contracting company?
