To clarify -- I'm a fan of what works best in any situation from a business
perspective.  As jobs and responsibilities may change over time, you have to
be open to working with what fits.  One good example is the phone I use:
Droid X.  I simply gravitate to using the best products.  It's a curse.

  I once complained that a Firefox beta was way slow and was told that the
betas have a number of additional checks enabled that aren't there in
general releases.  It's akin to a "checked build" in Microsoft terms.  So it
may be apples and oranges.  I'm not betting either way at this point.  "It's
all vaporware until the product ships."

  I'm also somewhat unhappy that Firefox has incorporated functionality from
add-ons into the core browser.  Sure, I used a lot of those addons, but the
choice was there and should have remained there.  All they would  have to do
is adopt the addons into their codebase and ship them installed by default.
Those who wanted something leaner could still have easily removed them then.
Sigh.

  I can't resist pointing out the irony in a Microsoft fan complaining that
someone else's product is bloated.  ;-)
