Can all the participating parties implement TLS smtp on their gateways ? This would use SSL certs to secure the otherwise clear-text smtp exchange between parties, along with setting up permitted MX addresses to use the TLS smtp virtual server

I have a Barracuda which can do some sort of verification, but I don't think that's what is needed.
