+1 to Zix.

We were in the same situation; rural hospital needing email encryption. Zix is
easy to use/setup. It already has a built-in HIPAA dictionary so it knows to
screen on PHI words/phrases.

Zix. Many healthcare providers and government types are already Zix
customers – if they are, it is totally transparent. If they require TLS, Zix can
provide that as well for you. If they do neither, and you still need to send
secure mail to them, the receiving party has to log into a web portal to
retrieve the email. Jim HolmgrenSenior Manager, Infrastructure

Subject: Re: Seeking secure e-mail options I believe Barracuda introduced
e-mail encryption with firmware version 5.x. Are there specific capabilities
you're looking for? We use ProofPoint and have been pretty happy with them. -

Subject: Seeking secure e-mail options I'm looking for suggestions on secure
e-mail. I have a Barracuda which can do some sort of verification, but I don't
think that's what is needed. Like agencies in my state are looking for secure
e-mail options so we can send clinical data to each other. I'd prefer
something that is autonomous to whatever e-mail system is used, since other
agencies may be Exchange or other e-mail products. We don't use Exchange here.

Suggestions appreciated.
