This is not 100% true.

BBM's (and text messages) CAN be read by IT.  

Just turn on logging on the BES.

Just wondering what the general consensus here is with Blackberry
Messenger.  I need to draft a note to staff confirming that BBM's are
secure and that there is no way that IT or anyone else can access them
from the BES or BESX console.  From what I've read is that they are much
more secure than text messaging in that they are encrypted.
