IIRC, express doesn't offer this functionality. Here's where it is in BES:
Open BlackBerry Manager and click the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to be modified. On the Server Configuration tab, click Edit Properties. Click Sync Server. Double-click Audit Root Directory. Type the file path where the files are to be saved and click OK. In the left pane, click BlackBerry Domain. On the Global tab, click Edit Properties. Click IT Policy. In the IT Policy Administration section, double-click IT Policies. Select one of the policies in the list. Click Properties > PIM Sync Policy Group. To monitor SMS or BlackBerry smartphone PIN messages, complete the steps in the following table. Action Procedure To monitor the SMS messages BlackBerry smartphone users send and receive from BlackBerry smartphones. Click Disable SMS Messages Wireless Sync. In the drop-down list, select False. To monitor the BlackBerry smartphone PIN messages BlackBerry smartphone users send and receive from BlackBerry smartphones. Click Disable PIN Messages Wireless Sync. In the drop-down list, select False. Click OK to close the open windows. Restart the BlackBerry Synchronization Service. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server creates the log files using the following formats: BlackBerry smartphone PIN messages: PINLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv SMS messages: SMSLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv Phone calls: PhoneCallLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv From: Steve Ens [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, March 04, 2011 4:46 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Re: Blackberry Messenger Nope, can't see anywhere to turn on logging for BBM...this is express though, not full blown BES. I'm using 4.1.6.10 We're testing BES 5 now, but I still haven't found anything that gives what I'd condifer true PIN/BBM auditing. - WJR On Fri, Mar 4, 2011 at 13:34, David Mazzaccaro <[email protected]> wrote: This is not 100% true. BBM's (and text messages) CAN be read by IT. Just turn on logging on the BES. I need to draft a note to staff confirming that BBM's are secure and that there is no way that IT or anyone else can access them from the BES or BESX console. From what I've read is that they are much more secure than text messaging in that they are encrypted. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin . ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
