The problem is when the IT staff does its job remarkebly well resulting in no downtime or perceived issues, *general* population perceives IT as ubiquitous as electricity. They just expect it there without any effort behind the providing of the service... In a previous job, I attained more kudos from the business recovering from issues that did arrive than protecting the business from all the problems they never had to experience. Nature of the business we're in.
