Dell has a whitepaper on what they recommend for this... let me look for the link. We also have some just for our Equallogic SAN HW and I could grab the model numbers. What models are you looking to support?

However, the Dell policy on warranty extensions has changed in the last years. PE and PV do go to year 7. Don't know about PC. If your current network delivers line-rate all the way like most (but not all) Juniper and Cisco stuff do then the additional cost of management for yet another product line might be more than the added cost for extending your current datacenter network. Very nice features, much lower cost, lifetime warranty. If you still can't swing the cost, get some used off eBay -- the warranty and license are still good (*cough* unlike Cisco *cough*). Dell will not extend the warranty on their products past five years. Not for any price.
